Flaxseed Oil Helps You Lose Weight

Flaxseed oil is one of the ingredients present in weight loss patches. The oil comes from the seeds of Linum usitatissimum and contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids which are essential for our health. Our bodies cannot make essential fatty acids on its own, so including foods that are rich in fatty acids in our diets is important.

A good balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids is very important for our diets. The Meditteranean diet has been proven to induce a higher HDL or good cholesterol level. Such a diet contains flaxseed and flaxseed oil. Fatty acids such as those contained in Flaxseed can create a satiety sensation and stabilize blood sugar levels. They can also boost the metabolic rate and decrease the rate at which carbohydrates are released into our system.

Almost all the systems in our bodies can benefit from the properties of flaxseed oil. The essential fats in Flaxseed will made our stomachs retain food longer than it does for no-fat and low-fat foods. Thus the release of nutrients into the small intestine is gradual. The advantage is a sustained rise in blood sugar, followed by a prolonged plateau. Next, the blood sugar will have a low and gradual decrease. The result is that you feel energized for a longer period of time after having a meal and the sensation of hunger will be delayed. This, of course, leads to consuming fewer calories.

Excessive fat is a result of over-consumption of carbohydrates that stimulate insulin production and fat storage. Adding flaxseed oil to our diets helps our body by providing only the necessary type of fat it needs. Flaxseed does not contain only fatty acids, but also lignans that have antibacterial and antiviral properties. Due to its multiple benefits, Flaxseed oil is included in the ingredients of weight loss patches.
